About

Ben Light

I am a multidisciplinary designer and engineer with over 20 years of professional experience that extends from consumer products to robotics and from homeware design to UI/UX. I am well versed in each stage of product creation — conceptual design, rapid prototyping, user testing, production, and implementation.

I have spent the last decade creating products for incredible clients at B.Light Design. My work has appeared in the Museum of Arts and Design, the MoMA Design Store, and on the shelves at Crate & Barrel.

I am currently a Fellow at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, a nationally renowned graduate program in interaction design and communication technologies. At ITP, I conduct original research and adapt my professional design and engineering strategies into graduate-level courses. Prior to that, I spent nearly a decade leading a multidisciplinary design team that built and released innovative digital products for a startup that was acquired by Oracle.

I am interested in working with organizations that embrace an atmosphere of ambiguity and invention to create effective, meaningful products.
