Turned lamp made from an oak tree that fell on my parent's house in 2011. One of the bigger lamps I've ever turned, the original log was a bit of a beast.

The lamp was made specifically for the Kids of Kathmandu's enLIGHTen Project, a fantastic charity run by fantastic people. A group of lighting designers (who I was humbled to be among) donated lamps and chandeliers that were auctioned off. All of the proceeds went to "the purchase, installation and upkeep of solar panels, batteries, solar lanterns, and a water filtration system at an orphanage in Bhaktapur, Nepal. The electricity will allow the kids to have lighting, clean water, refrigeration, computers as well as other basic, fundamental sanitary conveniences."
