The three bots are painted.

Working on yet another robot toy. This one is made up of a coffee can, a sink strainer, and a green beans can (mmmm green bean casserole).

I’m working on a new toy robot (check out the last one). The head mechanism is made from part of a caster and a can of beans.

This weekend my nephew opened his one of a kind robot toy. I’m pretty much the best uncle ever, just saying.

Finally got to the electronics part of the project. LED eyes.

Also named the guy, C.A.N. Bot. I have no idea what C.A.N. stands for yet though.

Paint job! Powder coated a nice candy red.

Also put together an acrylic chest plate.

Got the head mechanism working and some other small odds and ends. Gettin there.

I’m putting together a toy robot this week, hopefully a certain 4 year old will like it.

Coffee can, chili peppers can, light fixture odds and ends, bolts, and a toggle switch. The robot is taking shape.

All of the controls will be on the back. Illuminated switches and buttons are fun, but my favorite part is a timer switch I pulled from a broken toaster oven.

R.I.C. is a dancing robotic puppet and was on display at the ITP Winter Show.

The music is “I’m Going to Get Me a Robot Man” by Ben Light and his Surf Club Boys. No relation.

I have got to get my hands on one of these. The Egg Bot is an art robot. More precisely, an incredibly clever printer, only instead of printing on flat paper, it prints on round things. Eggs, Christmas ornaments, golf balls, and my particular favorite, light bulbs.

The designs it’s capable of creating are so cool. With light bulbs like these, who needs a lamp shade?
