Lumarca

Thursday, December 29th, 2011

I have the good fortune to be lending a hand on an incredible installation: Lumarca.

Lumarca is a volumetric display that allows viewers to experience digital animations in true three dimensional space. The video does not do it justice, the effect is pretty amazing in person. And this January 12th you can come and see it at Eyebeam.

The creators Albert Hwang and Matt Parker have done some incredible work, not to be missed.

For more information on the show check out http://eyebeam.org/events/main-space-lumarca.

Use Me

Next up for Design Week, Use Me. The American Design Club is holding its 6th show, “an exhibition by 45 young American designers of unapologetically functional objects, each of which exhibits a strong sense of purpose, intelligent use of materials, and the ability to do one thing extremely well.” The list of designers showing is pretty impressive, I’m honored to be among them.

I will be showing the Secret Passageway Switch, and it will be for sale.

Turned Toys

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Came across these two great turned toys (thank you minor details). I love how simple they are and yet are pretty expressive. All of the artists are from Argentina, must be something great in the water there. I might have to rip these off.

The Drop Part 2

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Kiel set me up with a sweet location. The mobile was hanging over a fantastic table and bench from Bear and Lion. They make some fantastic furniture.

Tagged Mobile Homes at THE DROP

It was an incredible show. There was a piece by Yoko Ono, a Chuck Close spotting, live graffiti under the High Line, free booze. It was fantastic. Open till Oct. 17th, check it out if you can.

Go see Apartment Therapy’s post on it, much better pictures than I took.
