Big Crack Lamp

I recently finished this monster. Turned from a log that was originally about 20″ in diam. While it was drying out it cracked open one night (heart breaking at the time, but now I like it). The pop was so loud it woke me up.

Refurbished Cherry Lamp

I just refinished an old cherry lamp I made my friend Corban a while back. The wax finish really deteriorated, but it came right back with a little TLC. What really surprised me was the light and dark parts of the grain changed dramatically over the years.

NYC Park Lamp

My latest lamp.

The wood comes from Highbridge Park that came down during the Sandy storm a while back. I believe it is some sort of birch.

Apartment Therapy ran a video of me changing out a typical lamp socket for one with a dimmer.

Trust me, these sockets make all the difference.

Macallen Cask Light in Miami

A few weeks ago the Macallan unveiled the Macallan M Decanter. I was asked to modify a “used” Scotch cask into a lamp to serve as a display for the decanter.

It was a fun job and the cask smelled amazing, especially when I finally broke inside. I call it the Macallan Cask Light.

Lake Logs

Over the Thanksgiving weekend my dad and I pulled some logs out of a drained lake. No telling if the results will be the same, but I’m hopeful. And if the stinky smell is any indication, they might just turn out to be beautiful.

Lindsey Adelman Studio created another stunning lighting fixture, and again I get to be a tiny part of it. The turnings I did for a previous piece for them, are also being used for this beauty below.

Another Design Week, another Model Citizens. The whole thing is pretty much a blur at this point.

Turn Table Lamps at Model Citizens

I showed the Turn Table Lamps and had some good feedback, we’ll see where this goes.

Below are some quick shots of some of the other Citizens.
